Commercialization
As President and CEO of API Soccer we held the Sponsorship , Licensing, Broadcast and Event Management rights for the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer throughout the 90s. Delivering millions of $$ in sponsorship, staging over 100 national team games , and broadcasting games both nationally and International. API was one of the leaders in the commercial development of Soccer in the USA.
USA /International Development
Manchester City ownership and the United Arab Embassy in Washington DC wanted to develop a program that "gave back" to kids in underserved communities throughout the USA . Over the course of 5 years we helped build 8 soccer fields in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago , Washington DC, Miami , Dallas, Atlantic City and Asbury Park , while also providing ongoing coaching programs . The Roof Top Soccer Dome in New York ..a true classic !!
MLS Strategic Plan
As Managing Director at Octagon we assisted the then new Commissioner Don Garber in developing a complete review of Major League Soccer's position in the USA market providing recommendations for its now very successful turnaround plan. As a Founding member of Major League Soccer (under API) and investor in DC United , we were uniquely positioned to offer "real world advice" and expertise. API also provided all the Broadcast production facilities for league at Launch.
Consulting on Stadium plan and eventual sale of DC United
Worked with Senior Management and Ownership at DC United on the potential development of a $200m Stadium project at Poplar Point and the eventual sale of DC United to Will Chang and Victor McFarland.
Youth League Management Platform
Worked with Founders to develop the platform and introduce it to leading sporting organizations and Leagues in the USA and Internationally. Rapid growth lead to acquisition of the the Company by the industry leading "Active Network"
